KRIS XENOPOULOS
Kris Xenopoulos is a South African guitarist most known for the acts Vulvodynia, Technopath and xavlegbmaofffassssitimiwoamndutroabcwapwaeiippohfffx (ask him what it stands for some time).
Vulvodynia: Signed to Czech label Lacerated Enemy Records, Vulvodynia is a slamming brutal death metal band that has achieved the most all-round success, becoming a house-hold name within the "SLAM" fandom around the world. Having toured internationally 7 times with 2 headlining European/UK tours within the last 2 years, as well as touring alongside legends including; Despised Icon, Malevolence and Archspire, Vulvodynia has become an unstoppable touring machine. Future prospects for the band include the upcoming release of their 6th record and 4th full length album, scheduled for the end of 2018, while 2019 will see the band pursuing a 5 week American tour in February/March. Talk of touring Asia and Australia is also in the air, in accompaniment to an endless amount of European tour offers. With this track record, the possibility of Vulvodynia's conquest is endless. XavlegbmaofffassssitimiwoamndutroabcwapwaeiippohfffX: Commonly referred to as 'Xavleg', is a comedy death metal band that has reached viral internet success. While the band may have gained traction due to their illegible logo and unorthodox name, the gimmick does not stand in for their sheer musicality and exemplary production. With the debut EP surpassing a million views, as well as the recent release of a 23 track album (2 years in the making), Xavleg stands out in the metal community due to their multiplicity of influence and quirky approach to music making. Having performed their highly successful debut show at the renowned Deathfeast Open Air festival in Germany alongside legends that include the Black Dahlia Murder, Dying Fetus and Misery Index, the future is undoubtedly bright for the band. Following on the success of their debut, Xavleg's second live performance will be in November 2018 at Manchester's Fall in the Brawl 3- a festival that has quickly become a cult classic within the community. Technopath: The newest of the 3, and Kris' passion project that allows him to create the music he has dreamed of making for years. Though classified by Kris as 'everything music', influenced by everything he has ever heard, Technopath takes the form of Jazz fusion and Djent-inspired Instrumental music with a virtuous flair. Having worked with legendary musicians including; Bryan Beller (Bassist of The Aristocrats, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani & Dethklok), Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen) & Nick Johnston on their debut EP, the virtuosity of Technopath is further seen through association. The high musicality of the debut EP however is only to be surpassed by the future prospects of the band, as they are currently working on a new album that will feature many more virtuous musicians, as well as the incorporation of 8-string guitars (largely inspired by Animals As Leaders). The anticipatory album will also exhibit an extensive use of the Thumping technique, but with much more of a melodic approach. 2019 will thus not only see Technopath release groundbreaking music, but also establish the band in the live music scene with a South African and Indian tour in the works. |
