RUN ONE/TWO UPDATE - SPARES:
So, we are ripping through run one, and will be posting guitars out as soon as the replacement back plates arrive. Tracking suggested friday delivery, but it was good friday, so i guess its tuesday.
Cases have been arriving, and we have about 100 cases here. Another 100 still due.
So far we SHOULD have around 30-35 spares after dealers get a few extras, and we sort out the endorsees. Some spares have paint blemishes, eg: a sanding scratch, or we've knocked it and chipped the finish. These will be resprayed in unique finishes to see how people react to new colours etc. This will take some time. There are only 3 so far, so by the time we get through everything, maybe 6?
Run two, we ordered a lot more spares. We rolled over all funds from run one, into run two. Then, with the delays of run one, meant there were obviously delays with run two. So, I convinced WMI to let me add in some more.... and then some more... and some dealers bought lots, so we added more, and then all the sales at NAMM... add more... and then because i couldnt get up to korea until mid April, i was like "another 20 please?"
Originally we were in for 268 guitars for run two. I added 100 spares. And over time we've added an extra 120. So there will be LOTS of spares. In fact, run two has more spares than run one had in total. Reinvesting!
All the spares are the same spec as the rest, except around 100 guitars (walnut and quilt hypes) which have Alder instead of Swamp Ash. Everyone who pre-ordered one of those exotic top Hypes gets Swamp Ash.
Im not sure if we will pre-sell the Run Two spares, or wait until all of Run Two has shipped. Either way, people who buy spares wont get them any faster if we release them earlier, but i does mean we can reinvest that cashflow into Run 3/4/5. We will probably also hold on to a bunch (70-80?) guitars and keep them for the end of the year. That way we can "re-release" the Walnut and Quilt models, without having to go through the whole order process again.
Pics: These Walnut tops are spares, we got all spares made with Alder bodies instead of Swamp Ash.
