Container is awaiting final inspection by customs, and fumigation (i think). We've prepaid all import costs to save time, so we didnt have to want for funds transfers. At last update (yesterday), we should expect a call either today, or tuesday (monday is a public holiday here) to organise delivery, which should then be < 24 hours.
Shipping webpage is complete. Most likely starting sunday (and then each day over the coming weeks), we will be emailing clients to invite them to the shipping webpage to log their details prior to their guitars shipping.
Once filled in, we will invoice each client within 48 hours. You'll pay your final bill + shipping + upgrades at your convenience. As those bills are paid, we ship each guitar, with our goal to be 15 guitars per day minimum.
Cases: we have set up a discount for those wishing to delete their case from the order. This discount comes off the overall bill. Deleting a case from your order allows us to ship a physically smaller package, saving postage costs also, but lowers the overall package value (inc insurance) and therefore directly lowering importation costs (!!)
Shipping order: We will ship guitars based on the plans you selected. Those that paid in full up front will see theirs ship first. Those that chose the smaller plans, last. We have some cases in stock, and 50 more arriving late next week (roughly the day we expect to start shipping). A further 70 arrive a week later, 70 the week after, and then 96 arrive via another container the week after that. Obviously if we have any orders for the case deletion, they will not be relying on cases arriving, but we foresee no delays for cases at this stage.
Local clients will be invited to pick up their guitars on Saturdays, to avoid shipping costs. There will be very strict times you may visit the workshop, and it will be "in and out" as we are not really set up for visitors.
We are not going to offer a handwound pickup upgrade AT THIS POINT, as this option will delay us shipping guitars. We will look at this again early next week and see if there is a way we can offer it, and still get guitars out the door on time. We dont want their to be a mass group of guitars being upgraded, and then we play catch up. Maybe we will have just a limited number, maybe those that upgrade will ship last, I dont know. We do have pickups in stock, as we were preparing to offer an optional upgrade.
You may get all anxious when seeing posts from people getting excited they have received their shipping email, shipping invoice, and final tracking number, yet haven't seen anything yourself, yet. Please be patient. We will not be 'mass emailing' everyone on day one. We will spread the emails out. No doubt some guy will think he is all paid up, and yet hasnt paid three instalments, and wants to quadruple check that we are correct even though paypal have already warned him (it happens). So you may not see something for a little bit... but you will see something! Please just let us do our thing. Emailing to triple check that your email to us works at least nine times since lunch, doesn't let us get through the work we need to. Trust that we have a system, and that system is there to benefit you in the long run. Your main email contact will be Siobhan, who is doing her best to make sure you get your guitar ASAP. Be nice, as she likes making me work hard for nice clients. smile emoticon
There has been murmurs from people that they may wish to change the colours of the guitars they ordered. This is a major headache for us. We will see if we can find a decent system to allow this, as their are numerous spares that will be available. There WILL be an upgrade cost for this, IF we allow it.
Spares will be announced within this group and to the mailing list on the website, once all guitars are shipped. A small number of spares will be held back to cover any insurance or lost packages, and then for advertising and promotions, reviews, and extras for dealers. From memory, we have around 50 spares all up. There will be no colours + models that are available, which will be the same as what is offered in Run THREE (eg: run 3 is all unique). Run three will be released once we have a good handle on shipping of this first run. Don't stress, we have already pre-booked a large number of build spots with WMI, and we should be able to accommodate everyone.
The BassGTR will be release to the public THIS WEEKEND. Sales have been good in all formats: 4, 5 and 6 string. We've been able to cap the pricing at $1999 AUD ($1470 USD) for the most expensive fully loaded version. The "base" bass, starts at $1799 ($1320 USD). All models include a Darkglass pre-amp, Luminlay side markers, Carbon fiber neck rods, etc etc. These babies are LOADED!!
