In case you haven't been over in the GTR Group on Facebook, or following our social media channels, Run 3 has arrived and it's glorious! So very happy with how these have turned out. World nailed the finishes. We'll be taking off 2 days for Christmas and 1 day for New Years but in between and after those dates we'll be pumping out QC and getting these out to those who ordered!

Run 6:
Red pickups for the Richie Allan signature have been confirmed. We've been able to convince WMI and our pickup winders that it is absolutely necessary. :) Whilst I was doing that, threw white into the mix also and got the go ahead. So we can start using those for more designs and replacement pickups in future. Run 6 will be left open until just after Xmas so that some of you who don't know they're getting gift vouchers from their partners can use them. We may shut it down early if we hit 250 (same as run 2 and 4), but will allow gift voucher holders to still get on board. Run 3: has landed at the docks. Customs duties and taxes have been paid. We've cleared out all our racks ready for delivery which is scheduled for Monday at this stage. From there we will do partial dealer orders (not full orders), and prioritise preorders we know can arrive before Xmas. We don't want guitars sitting in the back of a truck for four days over the Xmas close down. We are only taking off Xmas and boxing days and New Year's Day. So no holidays :( Our couriers take one extra day off for Aussie deliveries but international is the same as us. Matt will be coming in for photos and helping where he can, helping us with non QC stuff that needs to be done. Magnus is going from two days a week to six days, and his role is prepping guitars for QC and shipping logistics, so Jett, Sophia and I can get stuck into processing the guitars faster. Our goal is 18 guitars per day. All the merch is here, except posters, which will be Tuesday now. NAMM guitars. We will have a minimum of 12 CustomShop (up to 17)!and a minimum 12 GTRs (up to 18-20) at NAMM. Some GTRs will be one off specials we have with different colour hardware etc. eg: tuxedo black with gold hardware. Azure blue with chrome. I know some of your are keen to purchase, and we have a priority system in place. Guitars will first be offered to our VIP list, which is a list of guys who missed out on getting in on a CustomShop run. The first ten guys get offered a VIP spot to pick up any in stock or cancelled orders. I think 7-8 guys are in that list. What we have for sale won't necessarily be what they want... they've waited patiently to order their own. From there our top dealers get one guitar each, if they want one. Most dealers are in Australia so the fact they have to be shipped back will possibly mean they wait for future stock (but if they do take one, you'll be able to buy from them). After that, we offer them here, and then the facebook page. We won't have a full list until a week or so prior because we don't know what we are taking yet. Workshop: We've just invested in a decent Cnc upgrade, to allow us a little bit more workflow. We are still going to handmake, just add a few more brain numbing jobs into the Cnc queue, like routing truss rods, or rough carving of tops (really tedious). You may have noticed we haven't done carved tops for ages. In February we take delivery of a new uv curable lacquer setup, which will reduce our lacquering times by up to 80%. It's the same system PRS, Warwick, and Taylor use. Both these things mean more CustomShop guitars can be produced... meaning dealers can eventually start taking them on too. Magnus joining the team has helped us out to keep busy without having to complete a lot of non productive tasks like cutting frets, or cleaning up :D In the new year we will bring on another GTR QC guy, but we need a more steady flow of deliveries first, which we are working on with WMI (as in, monthly shipments of previous models, eg: rerelease popular colours from previous runs). That's about it for updates. :) Gonna keep this one short, folks. We've officially linked up with Gruv Gear for our own customised Ormsby embossed fret wraps. They'll be going out to all original run 1 owners along with the straps made by The Guitar Strap Co. and the setup booklet too. We'll also be making this gear available for purchase in future. Woo!
Not too long to go now!
The shipping container is scheduled to arrive between '14th and 19th' of December in Perth. From there we are going to get as many shipped prior to Xmas as possible, three days off for Xmas, then straight back into it. All guitars will be shipped by Jan 13th (run three is 1/3 the size of run two) Can't wait to get these out to you guys. RUN THREE:
Over the next 7-10 days, everyone who has a pre-order direct from us (not a retail store) for run three will get an email with a link to a shipping form. This form asks for details on where the guitar is being shipped to*, your optional setup and string details, and merchandise options. You do not have to fill in the form straight away, but the quicker you get it back to us, the better. From there, once run three has arrived, we will start processing orders. As per the original payment plans, orders will be shipped based on the payment plan you chose. Our goal for run three is to have all pre-orders completed within three weeks of delivery. If you have a pre-order through one of our retailers, just hold tight and they will call you when your guitar arrives. When your guitar is ready to ship, you will get a paypal invoice which covers the remaining payments (and/or skipped payments), shipping, optional setup upgrade, and merch if chosen. SOME people may get an invoice prior to being ready to ship, but most guitars will be packaged up and ready to go before you get the invoice, meaning it will ship within 48 hours of your account being finalised. You have 30 days, from when you are invoiced, to finalise your account. If you have any financial difficulties, are on holidays, or for any reason need to delay shipment, you MUST communicate with us. Communication is easy, and let's us know what is going on, rather than guessing. Merchandise for run three includes: T-shirts as seen previously Hoodies in black Singlets Hats New posters Sticker/decals *we will only ship to the original purchaser Production of Run 3 guitars is underway with out new exotic SX models and Hype GTR natural. I will be heading to Korea very soon for inspection and planning some other new goodies for the future!
Thank you to everyone who has filled out their shipping details. We are off to a blistering start with run 2! QC is much faster than run 1 due to the changes we had World make at their end (modded nuts, fret leveling, extra coat of clear etc.) and with the addition of cases and shipping boxes already included from the factory, we are able to ship them to you much easier. Below are just some of our snaps of new models. Mat will be coming to Perth in a week's time to take pro shots of all the new models.
Run 2 folk, your day has come! The shipment has arrived! We've done a live unveiling in the GTR group.
Thank you to those who have filled out shipping forms already that have been sent out to emails. We have begun invoicing people but this will take several weeks to complete so don't stress if you've not received your notification yet. If you didn't get your form for shipping, please check your spam folder or just hold tight, we know who hasn't responded. The container is due to arrive in Australia in the next few days, and from there we have to wait for quarantine, customs, etc. Starting tomorrow, we will be invoicing people for their final bill inc shipping. This will START tomorrow, and could take a few weeks. Your invoice has no bearing on when your guitar will ship. We will still prioritise the plans that had priority...
A number of people have not submitted their shipping forms, but we will chase them up this week. If you didnt get the email a couple weeks ago, check your spam folder, or just hold tight... we know who hasnt responded. FCL(40ft) ETD : 13th of May, 2016 ETA : 2nd of June, 2016
In the next few days you'll all get emails regarding your shipping address. This is being done as one large batch of emails that have no bearing on the shipping priority. Once we have your forms back, we will then pre-enter your details into dhl and tnt's databases, ready for when your guitar is ready to ship. We are doing this a month before the first guitars ship. Run two should be less time to process each guitar (than run one), but it is also a bigger order. At some point prior to shipping, with zero bearing on shipping priority, you'll be invoiced for final payments (if due), plus shipping (if due), plus setup upgrade (if requested), plus merchandise pack (if requested). So, you may get your shipping address request email, plus your shipping etc invoice, more than one month prior to actual shipping. You might get them a few days before. These are all sent in alphabetical order. Actual shipping will be done in the order of priority (based on your payment plan) as best as possible. |
